ABOUT SOSHA

An artist I am and a dreamer since I was a child. I remember coloring, painting, making for hours, creating things that you couldn’t find in the store! I remember looking up at the sky often wondering what was out there, why am I here, what is a tree made of, and why can’t animals talk!

All through grade school and college I excelled in all of my art classes, making the dean’s list my junior and senior year of college. Although I was frequently reminded that being an artist solely would not be lucrative and I would have to find other ways to diversify my income. I took an interest in graphic design and illustration, furthering my knowledge in those fields post college.

Today, I work as a freelancer, author, and business owner. I’ve had amazing opportunities fall in my lap where I’ve gotten to illustrate a subscription box and five books. I am the author and illustrator of my very own how-to watercolor book called Galaxy Watercolor that is currently being published with Page Street Publishing. In addition to freelance work, I co-run and co-own a small gift shop locally where I create some of the products we sell. I also run a successful Etsy shop where I design and sell stationery, prints, and digital products.

When I’m not busy pursuing my dreams, I spend time with my family, read about science, take walks through the woods, sit upon my meditation pillow, gaze up at the stars and of course paint! I am a native of Michigan, although I haven’t lived here all of my life, but call West Michigan home. I spent almost the other half of my life in Chicago, attending college and still enjoy visiting friends and family. My favorite color is Payne’s Gray. I love authentic chips and salsa, guac equally as much, and my drink of choice is a chilled matcha.
